.: Brand Watch – Milk From A Thistle :.

Born out of the love of pure textile design, Milk From A Thistle combines bold and engaging prints that capture your imagination.

The amazing pieces are like a breath of fresh air, with designs that are captivating and unique. And the woman behind these charming designs is Danielle Atkinson. After a career in indie music, Danielle turned to her first obsession, fashion.

Australian designed and Australian made, Milk From A Thistle was launched in 2006. Danielle’s designs are evidently growing with each season from prints to styles. Her love of big bold prints has become the label’s staple signature as well as her original designs that are exclusive to Milk From A Thistle.

The wearable and accessible garments tell a story just like a fairy tale. My personal favourites are Forest One Shoulder Silk Dress and Maxi in Baltic Blue as both combine flair with comfort chic.

...I fell in love...

I found this image of a women taken in the 1920's. I automatically fell in love with the glamour that this decade has given us.

There is no doubt that this photo captures beauty, elegance and femininity and that the dress and accessories she is wearing are absolutely beautiful but her poise and body language is what gives this image its true appeal.

Not only should fashion be inspired from this glamorous decade but so too should all women. Fashion is an expression and an outlet of our personality and individuality, but we make who we are, who we are.

So be proud in the name of fashion and express your true beauty!

peace, love and fashion

...feminine and sexy...

If I were to be asked what my fashion style would be, I would honestly struggle to answer. I believe that fashion is an extension of your personality and who you are. People like to vocally express their emotions but I go that bit further and show it through fashion.

I do currently love items that are structured and tailored to fit the women's body whilst still allowing women to be feminine and sexy. With shades of pinks, purples and creams and fabrics that are stiff and structured. I see that the contrasts compliment each other, which works well in creating the tailored feminine portrait.
